MADRID, Spain, Sep 14 (ePRESS) – Sri Lankan teenager Yevan David ended his rookie FIA Formula 3 Championship season with a top-10 finish at the Madring Circuit in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday, collecting his 35th point of the 2026 campaign.
The 18-year-old AIX Racing driver finished 18th in the championship standings, which featured 34 drivers.
David secured his final point of the season by finishing 10th in the second Feature Race. Starting ninth on the grid, he fought hard to remain inside the points.
He also produced a strong recovery drive in the first Feature Race, climbing from 14th on the grid to finish 11th. He narrowly missed another points finish.
David started the opening Sprint Race from 16th position and crossed the line in the same place.
The Sri Lankan had climbed to 15th in the championship standings after an impressive round at Monza, where he claimed two fourth-place finishes.
However, he slipped three places during the Madrid finale and completed the season in 18th position.
David gained valuable experience during a demanding rookie campaign that began in Melbourne and ended in Madrid.
AIX Racing provided key support throughout his first season at one of the highest levels of international junior motor racing.
David will now look to build on his rookie campaign and return stronger in 2027.
