BANGKOK, November 1 2025 (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka’s top-ranked junior golfers Kaya Daluwatte and Reshan Algama showcased their class and composure on Day Three of the SINGHA Thailand Junior World Golf Championship 2025, held at the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course in Bangkok.
The championship resumed on Saturday after the entire second round was washed out due to heavy rain, leaving one decisive round to be played on Sunday.
In the Girls’ Division, Kaya Daluwatte, the Asian Youth Games bronze medalist, continued to shine on the international course, sharing the lead with Singapore’s Passion Hsu. Both players returned identical totals of 146 (+2) after rounds of 71 (-1) and 75 (+3). Daluwatte, known for her technical precision and calm course management, displayed scientific control over her game, keeping herself firmly in contention for a possible title victory on the final day.
Meanwhile, in the Boys’ Division, Reshan Algama, Sri Lanka’s No. 1-ranked junior boy golfer, produced a measured performance under challenging conditions. He returned consistent rounds of 76 and 76 for a total of 152 (+8), placing him tied for ninth alongside Singapore’s Keeshaun Tan and fellow Sri Lankan Adhithya Weerasinghe. Algama, known for his strategic play and steady temperament, will aim to climb into the top five with a strong closing round.
The Philippines’ Shinichi Suzuki leads the Boys’ field at 139 (-5), while the Girls’ contest remains finely balanced at the top. (www.epress.lk)
