COLOMBO, August 10 (ePRESS) – Sea Hawks FC missed the chance to move closer to the Super League leaders after being held to a 0-0 draw by Blue Star SC in a hard-fought Football Federation of Sri Lanka Super League 2025/26 match at Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The result kept Sea Hawks fourth on seven points from four matches, while Blue Star remained seventh with four points.
Both teams created several attacking moves but neither could break the deadlock during the 90-minute contest played under sunny conditions.
Sea Hawks enjoyed more possession for long periods and looked the more threatening side going forward, but Blue Star’s defence remained disciplined to deny every attempt. Goalkeeper Udayanga Perera also made several important saves to keep his side in the match.
Blue Star also threatened on the counterattack, but Sea Hawks’ backline stood firm to record their third clean sheet of the campaign.
Sea Hawks midfielder Mohamed Kurshith was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his energetic display in midfield.
The draw left Sea Hawks with two wins, one draw and one defeat from four matches, while Blue Star collected their first draw of the season to add to one win and two defeats.
