RCGC, Colombo, August 5, 2025 (ePRESS) – Kaya Daluwatte and Adithya Weerasinghe emerged as the top performers in the qualifying round of the Sri Lanka Junior Match Play Championship 2025 for the Rukmini Kodagoda Trophy, sponsored by Perera and Sons Bakers (Pvt) Ltd. Both players carded impressive rounds to top the Gold Division leaderboard at the Royal Colombo Golf Club on Tuesday.

Daluwatte, competing in the Girls’ Gold Division (15–18 age category) from the Red Tee markers, delivered a composed round of two-under-par 70, far ahead of her nearest rivals. Her clinical performance ensured she claimed the No.1 seed in the girls’ draw for the Rukmini Kodagoda Trophy.

In the Boys’ Gold Division, played off the Black Tee markers, Adithya Weerasinghe led the field with a strong even-par round of 71, narrowly edging out Don Reshan Akash Algama who finished two strokes behind with a 73. Weerasinghe now heads into the match play stage as the top seed among the boys, setting up a promising road ahead in the four-round Match Play.
