SINGAPORE, May 27 (ePRESS) – Sri Lankan swimmer Kyle Abeysinghe produced a stunning comeback performance to win the bronze medal in the men’s 100m Freestyle at the 21st Singapore National Swimming Championships, clocking 50.94 seconds to become the country’s top-ranked male swimmer of 2026 with an impressive 755 World Aquatics points score.
The outstanding performance also confirmed Killer Whale Aquatics (KWA) as the home of Sri Lanka’s top two male swimmers this year, with Kyle Abeysinghe ranked number one ahead of teammate MF Muhammad.

The bronze medal performance is expected to boost Sri Lanka’s preparations for upcoming international meets, while also underlining the growing strength of Killer Whale Aquatics in producing elite swimmers.
Kyle’s return to peak performance has been warmly welcomed by the Sri Lankan swimming community, with many praising his determination and resilience in overcoming illness to once again compete at the highest level.
The 21st Singapore National Swimming Championships has attracted several leading swimmers from across the region, making Kyle’s podium finish a significant achievement for Sri Lankan swimming.
