JAKARTA, Indonesia, June 12 (ePRESS) – Sri Lankan junior golfers Jaeden Sathasivam and Abhiman Abeywardhana recorded top-10 finishes at the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Jaeden finished eighth in the Boys Development-C Division with a three-round total of 256 after scores of 83, 83 and 90. The young Sri Lankan remained competitive throughout the tournament and secured a place among the division’s top ten golfers.
Abhiman also ended inside the top ten, finishing 10th with a total score of 275. He showed steady improvement during the three-day event, carding rounds of 95, 92 and 88, with his best performance coming in the final round.
Japan’s Hosono Yamato claimed the title with a total of 220, four-over-par, after rounds of 70, 75 and 75. Hong Kong’s Isaac Timso finished runner-up on 223, while Japan’s Keito Sakashita took third place with 229.
Another Sri Lankan golfer, Yuvan Rathiskanth, withdrew from the competition after posting scores of 93 and 89 in the opening two rounds.
The championship attracted talented young golfers from across Asia and provided valuable international exposure for Sri Lanka’s rising players. The top-10 finishes by Jaeden and Abhiman were among the bright moments for the Sri Lankan contingent at the prestigious junior event.
