SPAIN, June 15 (ePRESS) – Sri Lankan driver Yevan David produced an impressive fightback in the Sprint Race at the FIA Formula 3 Championship Round 3 in Barcelona, gaining nine places to finish 19th as he continued his 2026 campaign with AIX Racing at the famous Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.

The 18-year-old driver showed strong determination and racecraft during the Sprint Race, battling his way through the field after qualifying and making significant progress in one of Europe’s most demanding racing circuits.

However, the Feature Race on Sunday proved more difficult for the Sri Lankan racer. Yevan brought his No. 27 AIX Racing car home in 27th place to complete the weekend.

Despite the mixed results, the Barcelona round provided several encouraging signs for both Yevan and the AIX Racing team as they continue to build experience and improve their performance during the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season.

The standout Sprint Race performance highlighted the progress being made by the young Sri Lankan driver and his team, even though they are still searching for their first championship points of the season.

Yevan Ranasinghe David will now turn his attention to Round 4 of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at the Red Bull Ring in Austria from June 26 to 28, where he will aim to continue his development and challenge for stronger results.
