COLOMBO, June 19 (ePRESS) – C.W. Mackie PLC has appointed veteran business leader Mangala Perera as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, entrusting him with the leadership of one of Sri Lanka’s long-standing diversified business groups.
Perera, who has served as a Director of C.W. Mackie PLC since April 2012, brings more than 26 years of experience in marketing and general management across multiple industries both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Before his appointment, he functioned as Executive Director and Group Chief Operating Officer of the company.
A respected corporate leader, Perera also holds key positions in several group companies. He serves as Managing Director of Sunquick Lanka (Private) Limited and is a Director of Sunquick Lanka Properties (Private) Limited, Kelani Valley Canneries Limited, Ceymac Rubber Company Limited and Ceytra (Private) Limited. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Phoenix Industries Limited.
Perera possesses strong academic and professional credentials. He holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo, a BSc (Hons.) Degree in Marketing Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Financial Management from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he contributes to higher education as a visiting lecturer in postgraduate management studies at the University of Colombo and the University of Kelaniya. He is also actively involved in national-level marketing initiatives and serves on several project committees and judging panels.
Beyond the business sector, Perera has played a significant role in sports administration. He previously served as President of the Sri Lanka Mercantile Volleyball Federation and was instrumental in promoting volleyball and beach volleyball in the country.
His appointment is expected to strengthen C.W. Mackie PLC’s leadership as the company continues its growth and expansion across diverse sectors of business.
