KATHMANDU: (ePRESS) – The Sri Lanka boys’ team scored their second consecutive victory by defeating Bhutan in the Group ‘B’ Round Robin tie of the ATF 12 and Under Team Competition Regional Qualifying Event for South Asia, held in Kathmandu, Nepal. Meanwhile, the girls’ team had a rest day in the seven-nation tournament.
The Sri Lankan boys’ team, consisting of Revaan Amarasinghe, Buvindu Jayawardhana, and Jathya Thalammeharage, won against Bhutan with a score of 3-0. The scorecard was 6-0, 6-0, 1-6, 1-6, and 1-6, 0-6 in favour of Sri Lanka.
In the day one ties, the Sri Lankan boys’ team won against Nepal, achieving a clean sweep victory. Similarly, the girls’ team triumphed over Maldives with a score of 3-0 on the same day.
Wednesday, the Sri Lankan boys will face Pakistan, and the Sri Lankan girls will compete against Nepal in a tough match.
