COLOMBO, August 17, 2025 (ePRESS) – Union Bank was honoured with a Special Award at the Satyn Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2025 for its efforts in promoting women in leadership and creating equal opportunities.
With women making up 50 percent of the Bank’s total workforce, the recognition highlights Union Bank’s strong commitment to gender equality and its focus on empowering women to grow at every level of the organisation.
The award was presented in the presence of senior representatives from the Bank and the business community. Among those present were Thishani Dissanayake, Vice President – Marketing Union Bank, Devani Konara, Chief Manager – Human Resources Union Bank, and Nilusha Wanasinghe, Manager – Marketing Union Bank.
The event also featured Nayomini Weerasooriya, Founder & Managing Editor of Satyn, and Clive Fonseka, CEO/General Manager of People’s Bank, who joined in recognising Union Bank’s achievement.
This accolade further strengthens Union Bank’s position as a progressive workplace that values inclusivity, diversity, and women’s leadership in Sri Lanka’s banking sector.
