COLOMBO, Sept 2, 2025 (ePRESS) – The Global Federation of Sri Lankan Business Councils (GFSLBC) held its first Annual General Meeting at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo under the theme “Uniting Global Sri Lankan Businesses – Moving Forward.”
Andre Fernando, President of the Sri Lanka Bangladesh Business Cooperation Council of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) and Managing Director of MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, was awarded for his outstanding leadership in building regional business links.
The two-day summit gathered entrepreneurs from 15 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Canada and India. The focus was on expanding global trade relations, attracting investments and channeling the expertise of Sri Lankan entrepreneurs worldwide into the national economy.
The award was presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during the federation’s inaugural session.
Fernando’s recognition highlights not only his personal dedication but also a wider effort to strengthen partnerships across the region and to position Sri Lanka as a strong player in global markets.
The GFSLBC summit acted as a platform for collaboration, bringing together Sri Lanka’s global business diaspora to create new opportunities for trade, investment and sustainable growth.
