COLOMBO, Tuesday, January 20 (ePRESS) – League leaders CR & FC, defending champions Kandy SC and CH & FC have already secured their places in the Cup Segment of the ongoing Maliban Trophy SLR Inter-club A Division League Rugby Tournament, with the final Cup berth set to be decided between Havelock SC and Air Force SC.
With the Super Round taking shape, the top four teams will compete in the Cup Segment, while the remaining sides will move into the Plate Segment. CR & FC have already locked in the top position, while Kandy SC and CH & FC are also assured of Cup rugby. The last Cup slot remains open, with Havelock SC and Air Force SC battling for qualification, as the loser will drop into the Plate competition.
The Plate Segment will feature Police SC, Army SC and Navy SC, along with either Air Force SC or Havelock SC depending on the final Cup outcome. Navy SC have already been confirmed in eighth place.
Meanwhile, Siri Lions have been eliminated from Round Two after finishing ninth in the standings.
