Classic Destinations wins top award in India

INDIA, Sept 9, 2025 (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka’s Classic Destinations has been named the Best Destination Management Company (DMC) out of India at the ICONIC Tourism Summit 2025, a high-profile event that gathered leaders from tourism, hospitality, and luxury industries.

The summit, organised by Redhat Communications in partnership with TV9 Network, was held in India and ended with the ICONIC Awards 2025. The ceremony was graced by India’s Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, as Chief Guest.

Alongside the award, Classic Destinations’ Head Chalaka Gajabahu represented Sri Lanka as a panelist in a discussion titled “Shape the Journey Before It Begins – Itineraries are Influenced, Not Just Followed.” He stressed the importance of creating inspirational and personalized experiences that influence travellers even before their trips begin.

Classic Destinations was recognised for its innovation, service excellence, and strong partnerships across India. The company stood out among international peers for helping shape meaningful travel experiences across the region.
