COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, Aug 13 (ePRESS) – Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) has delivered its eighth vessel in the 5,000 DWT Eco Bulk Carrier series to Misje Eco Bulk AS of Norway, marking another milestone in a long-term partnership that began in 2022.

The vessel, named Misje Lily, was officially handed over recently, continuing a delivery schedule that began with the first ship in September 2022. CDPLC said each subsequent vessel has been completed with increasing efficiency, underscoring its ability to meet strict international standards.

Measuring 89.95 metres and built to DNV classification, Misje Lily was conceptualized by Wartsila Ship Design Norway, with detailed design work by Colombo Dockyard’s in-house team. In keeping with the latest sustainability trends, the vessel features an advanced Energy Storage Battery System (ESS) for electric hybrid propulsion, working alongside its conventional diesel engines to improve efficiency and cut emissions.

CDPLC said the successful delivery strengthens its reputation as a trusted builder of high-quality, eco-friendly ships for global clients.
