DUBAI, Sept 26 (ePRESS) – Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, welcomed the all-female panel of ICC match officials at its headquarters in Dubai ahead of their departure to India and Sri Lanka for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
The delegation included 14 umpires and four match referees, representing 10 different nationalities. They paid tribute to Emirates, which is the Global Partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, set to run from September 30 to November 2 in India, will make history as the first Women’s 50-over World Cup to be officiated entirely by an all-women panel of match officials.
Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Executive Vice President for Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand, said the airline was proud to support the landmark event.
“As the Official Airline Partner of the ICC, Emirates is proud to support the first all-women team of match officials who will preside over the matches in this important tournament,” Boutros said. “This event is a celebration of inclusivity, equal opportunity, and our shared passion for sport.”
Emirates has also extended its support through the ICC 100% Cricket Future Leaders Programme, which helps aspiring women leaders in cricket. The airline provides discounted fares, exclusive travel benefits, and mentoring opportunities for participants, giving them access to world-class training and development.
The partnership between Emirates and the ICC is now in its third decade. The airline’s logo features on the kits of ICC Elite and International Umpires and Match Referees, while also transporting officials to global tournaments. Emirates branding is visible at all major ICC events, including the ICC Men’s and Women’s World Cups, T20 World Cups, Champions Trophy, and the World Test Championship Final.
