COLOMBO, Sept 4 (ePRESS) – One of Japan’s most innovative and health-focused technologies, Water Optimizing Waves (WOW), has been introduced to Sri Lanka for the first time.
WOW is a 100-year-old Japanese tradition of paper-bag vacuum technology that delivers health benefits for people of all ages without complications, said Tanaka Hisao, founder, CEO and inventor of Evertron Co., Ltd, at the launch held at Hilton Colombo.
“In addition to helping people stay young and healthy, WOW also supports treatment of illnesses that are considered incurable,” Hisao told reporters.
The technology also preserves freshness in fruits, vegetables, fish and meat. “I developed this ground-breaking device that can transform any refrigerator into a freshness-preserving unit by maintaining the cellular freshness of food and flowers,” he said.
Over the years, Hisao has expanded the technology into several fields: preserving human cells (Health Tech), improving sleep (Sleep Tech), reducing menstrual pain (Fem Tech), and aiding athlete recovery (Sports Tech).
“As the inventor of WOW, I am happy to fulfil my 40-year dream of bringing this revolutionary innovation to Sri Lanka,” he said, adding that he chose Sri Lanka because the country was among the first to support Japan after World War II through a speech by then-President J. R. Jayewardene.
Kosala Wickramanayake, former President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, who played a key role in introducing WOW to the island, said they are now exploring the possibility of setting up an assembly facility in Sri Lanka.
“Since demand for WOW products is high, our aim is to create high-end jobs locally and expand exports to the region. This will also help Sri Lanka earn much-needed foreign exchange,” Wickramanayake noted.
