COLOMBO, September 8 (ePRESS) – Kandy Ayurvedic Pharmacy Ltd, the iconic maker of herbal medicines under the famous ‘Nuwara Osu’ brand, has won the Ayurvedic Product Manufacturing Excellence Award at the Global Business Excellence 2025 Elite Series II, held at the BMICH recently.
The award was given in recognition of the company’s outstanding achievements, innovation, and lasting impact on the ayurvedic industry.

Founded 83 years ago in Kandy, the pharmacy is the oldest ayurvedic products manufacturer in Sri Lanka. It was established to expand ayurvedic practice across the country, under the leadership of eminent physician Weda Muhandiram U. B. Narampanawa Rate Mahaththaya, the company’s first chairman.
Today, Kandy Ayurvedic Pharmacy manufactures more than 300 products, all made with cruelty-free, scientifically proven, and ethically sourced natural ingredients, staying true to ayurvedic traditions and holistic wellness.
