COLOMBO, Oct 2, 2025 (ePRESS) – Visitors to the Colombo International Book Fair 2025 can now buy their entry tickets directly through the PickMe app, marking a first for Sri Lanka’s biggest literary event.
With just a few taps on the app, users can purchase tickets via the PickMe Events feature and enter the fair through a quick QR scan at special counters set up at the BMICH. The new gate-pass style system removes the need for long queues.
To promote the digital check-in system, PickMe is offering users three free tickets during the 10-day fair, which runs from September 27 to October 6.
The Book Fair, held at the BMICH, often faces transport challenges due to its location away from major public transport routes. PickMe, the official mobility partner, is addressing this by offering special ride discounts and extending support through its services. Vendors can also save costs using PickMe’s Flash, Truck, Rentals, and Food platforms to manage the fair’s heavy footfall and logistics.
One highlight this year is PickMe Courier, which allows book lovers to ship bulk purchases directly from the fair to their homes island-wide at a rate of just Rs. 100 per kilogram. A dedicated PickMe stall at the fair will assist with bookings, deliveries, and even driver registrations.
In addition, PickMe has organized a free shuttle bus service from Borella to the BMICH. In partnership with Vega Innovations, visitors can also enjoy complimentary rides in the locally designed Vega ETX electric car, adding a sustainable transport option.
“Our involvement with the Colombo International Book Fair is about improving accessibility,” said PickMe CEO Jiffry Zulfer. “By introducing services like PickMe Events and Courier, we are not only helping readers get to the fair but also making sure their entire experience, from entry to taking their books home, is seamless and convenient.”
