COLOMBO, Oct 2 (ePRESS) – Global fintech company Pine Labs Limited has teamed up with Sri Lanka’s Bank of Ceylon (BOC) to issue and manage prepaid multi-currency travel cards for customers.
The new card, powered by Pine Labs’ Credit+ platform, is a physical card issued under the Mastercard scheme. It allows BOC to meet the foreign exchange needs of Sri Lankans travelling overseas.
Built on modular architecture, the Credit+ technology provides a secure and scalable system for the bank to issue cards. The platform also supports debit, credit, prepaid, and forex cards while managing the full customer lifecycle.
“We are delighted to partner with Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka’s largest state-owned commercial bank,” said B. Amrish Rau, CEO of Pine Labs Limited. “Our Credit+ card issuance platform is designed to meet strict regulatory standards while offering advanced safeguards such as chargeback management, tokenisation, and comprehensive authorisation rules.”
Bank of Ceylon has already issued more than 20,000 such cards with the support of Pine Labs. “We are truly grateful for the services provided by Pine Labs as our Card Management System vendor,” said Upul Wijayathunga, Assistant General Manager (International) of BOC.
The initiative strengthens BOC’s position in providing modern digital payment solutions for Sri Lankan travellers.
