Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit 2025 to open in Colombo on Dec. 2

COLOMBO, Sept. 1, 2025 (ePRESS) – The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will host the Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit 2025 on December 2 at the Shangri-La Colombo, bringing together top local and international business leaders for two days of high-level talks.

This year’s theme, “Gateway to Growth – Asia’s Emerging Opportunity,” will set the stage for discussions on Sri Lanka’s path to growth. Chamber Chairperson Krishan Balendra will deliver the opening remarks, followed by a keynote address from Kenneth Shen, Chairman of EDOTCO Group, Malaysia. Shen also chairs Astro Holdings and serves on the board of Astro Malaysia Holdings, the country’s largest content creator.

The first day will begin with a session titled “Macroeconomic Dashboard – Stability Secured, Growth Unleashed.” The discussion will focus on whether Sri Lanka’s hard-won economic stability can now lead to sustained and inclusive growth. Experts will assess the credibility of the current policy framework, risks to recovery, and the role of the private sector in driving exports and investments.

The panel will feature Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and economist Saurav Anand of Standard Chartered Bank. The session will be moderated by Anushka Wijesinha, Co-Founder and Director of the Centre for a Smart Future.
