COLOMBO, Sept 4, 2025 (ePRESS) – The National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), working under the Ministry of Industries and Enterprise Development, together with NSBM Green University, has launched a new program titled “Colombo Robotics Meetup 2025.”

The initiative, announced today at a media briefing in Colombo, is aimed at transforming traditional farmers into “Smart Farmers” by bringing robotics and digital technology into the agriculture sector. The main event will take place on September 12 at the NSBM Green University premises.

Officials said the program will help farmers move away from conventional methods and adopt efficient, sustainable, and technology-driven solutions. It is expected to modernize Sri Lanka’s agriculture while boosting productivity and innovation.

The initiative is backed by key institutions, including Imperial College London, the Export Development Board (EDB), the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), the National Initiative for Research and Development Commercialization (NIRDC), and the Ministry of Agriculture.
