COLOMBO, Aug 10 (ePRESS) – The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), together with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and the stock broking industry, will host an Invest Sri Lanka Investor Forum in Singapore on 12 August 2025, aiming to attract more foreign funds into the country’s capital market.
The event follows the success of a similar foreign investor forum held in Colombo in March this year. Organisers say the Singapore forum will bring together senior government officials, regulators, listed companies, stock brokers, and global investors to promote Sri Lanka as a promising frontier market.
Key speakers include Prof. Anil J. Fernando, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Economic Development; Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank; Senarath Dissanayake, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Singapore; Ruchir Desai, Fund Manager at Asia Frontier Capital Ltd; and Dr. Naveen Gunawardane, Managing Director of LYNEAR Wealth Management. They are expected to outline Sri Lanka’s economic reforms, financial stability, and investment potential.
Eleven major listed companies will showcase their performance and growth prospects, underlining the strength of the corporate sector.
Sri Lanka’s stock market has delivered robust gains in recent years. The All-Share Price Index (ASPI) and S&P SL20 returned 25.50% and 16.42% in 2023, and surged by 49.66% and 58.46% respectively in 2024. The momentum has carried into 2025, with higher turnover, strong foreign interest, and a net foreign inflow of USD 66.5 million in 2024. The market also raised a record USD 568.61 million in capital last year.
Officials say the Singapore forum is designed to sustain this growth by deepening engagement with long-term international investors.
