NEGOMBO: (ePRESS) – Negombo Tennis Club hosted a thrilling edition of the SLTA DENTA Teen Cool Tennis Regional Kids’ Play Day 2024, featuring young talents from the Negombo, Gampaha, Wattala, and Ja-Ela regions.
A total of 35 teams and 350 players participated in the tournament, which was organized by the Negombo Tennis Club with the support of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association and sponsored by DENTA Teen.
In the Boys’ Red Ball category, De Mazenod College emerged victorious, while St. Joseph’s College (Blue Team) secured the runner-up position. Dr. Kulasinghe College took third place, followed by Sumedha College (Gold Team) in fourth.
The Girls’ Red Ball competition saw Ave Maria Convent crowned as champions, with Newstead Girls’ College (Blue Team) finishing as runners-up. St. Joseph’s College claimed third place, and St. Peter’s College (A Team) secured fourth.
In the Boys’ Orange Ball event, St. Joseph’s College Wattala took the title, while De Mazenod College finished as runners-up. For the Girls’ Orange Ball, Ave Maria Convent triumphed, with Newstead Girls’ College coming in second.
In the Boys’ Green Ball category, St. Anthony’s College Wattala secured the championship, defeating St. Joseph’s College. In the Girls’ Green Ball, Newstead Girls’ College (Blue Team) claimed the top spot, with Ave Maria Convent taking the runner-up position.
