COLOMBO, Apr 29 (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister has appointed a powerful Sri Lanka Cricket Restructuring Interim Committee led by Eran Wickramaratne after the previous executive committee headed by Shammi Silva resigned, marking a major shake-up in the country’s cricket administration.
The new committee brings together leading cricketing figures including former national captain Kumar Sangakkara, former ICC Elite Panel match referee Roshan Mahanama and former Sri Lanka captain Sidath Wettimuny, who also previously served as Interim Committee Chairman.
They are joined by experienced professionals Thushira Radella, Avanthi Colombage, Prakash Schaffter, Upul Kumarapperuma and legal expert Dinal Philips, forming a broad-based panel aimed at reforming Sri Lanka Cricket.
The appointment comes at a critical time for Sri Lanka Cricket, with authorities seeking structural changes, improved governance and long-term stability in the sport.
Officials said the committee is expected to focus on key reforms, strengthen administration and guide the future direction of cricket in the country.
