Adithya’s consistency earns 15th at All India Golf

BANGALORE, India: (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka’s Adithya Weerasinghe capped off an impressive performance at the IGU All India Junior Golf Championship, finishing 15th with a gross score of 297 after a composed one-over-par round in the final day at the Karnataka Golf Association course in Bangalore, India on Friday.

The 15-year-old golfer from Anuradhapura, playing in just his second overseas tournament, displayed impressive consistency over the tough four-round event.

Reshan Algama, another Sri Lankan competitor, fought back after a challenging mid-tournament phase to deliver a strong final round, matching Weerasinghe’s one-over-par performance. Algama finished in 20th place with a gross score of 308.

In Category B, Thejas Rathiskanth gained valuable experience, ending his campaign tied for 20th with a gross score of 327.

India’s Karthik Singh was the standout star of the championship, claiming the overall title across both Category A and B with a sensational gross score of 275. In the fiercely contested Category A division, Krish Chawla and Angad Singh shared the spotlight, tying for the top spot with impressive scores of 284.

The tournament offered Sri Lanka’s young golfers valuable exposure against top-tier international talent, a promising step for the island nation’s golf future.
