Reshan Algama, a Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) member, demonstrated his golf skills, taking the lead with an impressive score of 73 in Round 3 of the Sri Lanka Golf National Ranking Tournament at Victoria Golf Resort in Digana on Sunday. In this tough round, only the top three players managed to score below 80.
Standing out among the competitors, the fifteen-year-old Algama, a student at Colombo International School, boasts an overall score of 221, positioning himself strongly as the tournament enters its final day Monday.
Priya Hemantha, a professional golfer from Victoria Golf Resort, secured the 2nd spot with a score of 74, totaling 224, just three shots behind Algama. Chalitha Pushpika claimed the 3rd position with a score of 76 and an overall total of 232.
RCGC’s Chanaka Perera, who led after the first day, faced a setback with a score of 84, putting him one shot behind Pushpika with a total score of 233. Uchitha Ranasinghe, also from RCGC, improved by one shot, posting a score of 80 and a total of 234.
G Dhanaranjan holds the 6th position with a score of 84 and a total of 241. Adhithya follows in 7th place, shooting a score of 83, resulting in a total of 245. Jevahn Sathasivam rounds out the top 8 with a score of 80 and a total of 247.
As the tournament heads into its final day amidst challenging playing conditions, the competition for the four slots in the upcoming international tournaments remains uncertain. The final round is anticipated to determine the players who will represent Sri Lanka on the international stage.
