COLOMBO: (ePRESS) – The British School in Colombo (BSC) clinched the championship title of the International Schools Under-16 Girls’ Football Tournament, defeating Colombo International School (CIS) 2-0 in the final at Moragasmulla Grounds in Colombo recently.
BSC’s Under-16 Girls’ team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, showcasing their strength by scoring 14 goals while allowing only two goals across all matches.
In the preliminary rounds, BSC delivered an impressive 8-0 victory against Lyceum International School and secured a 2-1 win over Elizabeth Moir School. They continued their winning streak with a solid 2-0 triumph over Lyceum International School in the semi-finals.
Samadi Kotagama, the standout playmaker for BSC, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament for her exceptional performance.
The British School Under-16 Girls’ Team was led by coaches Manjula Sirisena and Sean Connolly.
