In the first day of the Sri Lanka Golf National Ranking Tournament November Edition at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Digana, Chanaka Perera from the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) grabbed the top spot with an impressive gross score of 72.
Right on his tail is Uchitha Ranasinghe, who closely followed with a gross score of 73. Priya Hemantha of Victoria Golf Resort (VGR), the sole Professional participant, also carded a gross 73.
Reshan Algama secured the next position with a gross score of 74, while VGR’s G Dhanaranjan followed at 77. Chalitha Pushpika of Navy scored 80, and Adhithya Weerasinghe of Anuradhapura Golf Club finished the day with a gross score of 81.
As the players completed round 1, those in contention for spots in the team event of the Amateur Championship of India and Malaysian Amateur Championship include Chanaka, Uchitha, Reshan, and G Dhanaranjan.
With three more rounds to go, there’s potential for the leaderboards to shift, and we might witness new names rising to the forefront in this exciting golf tournament.
