Nuwara Eliya, Feb 13, 7.30PM – Chanaka Perera exhibited another solid performance, maintaining his lead at the National Ranking Tournament (NRT) hosted by Sri Lanka Golf at Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. Perera, representing Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), finished the second day with a gross score of 75, bringing his aggregate gross score to an impressive 147.
Perera’s exceptional play puts him nine strokes ahead of the competition, firmly securing his top position on the 36-member leaderboard. Chalitha Pushpika from Sri Lanka Navy is trailing behind, carding a gross 77 and currently sitting nine shots adrift of Perera.
Priya Hemantha, the sole professional golfer from Victoria Golf Club (VGC), climbed into the third position with a gross score of 80. However, RCGC’s Uchitha Ranasinghe slipped to fourth place after a lackluster second round, posting a gross score of 86.
HLS Sanathchandra from Sri Lanka Army maintained his position with a gross score of 85, totaling 169. RMS Rupasingha of Sri Lanka Navy is close behind with rounds of 89 and 80.
The competition remains intense as the first NRT of the year progresses. Two more rounds are scheduled, and the event is set to conclude on February 15. Golf enthusiasts eagerly await the final results as players continue to showcase their skills on the picturesque grounds of Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.
