Bangkok, THAILAND: (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka’s Kaya Daluwatte put up a strong fight to claim the Class AG runner-up position at the Singha Thailand Junior World Golf Championship, which wrapped up at the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course in Bangkok. The 16-year-old golfer ended just one stroke behind the winner.
Daluwatte, ranked as Sri Lanka’s number one golfer, finished with a final round score of 77, matching Vietnam’s Chuc An Lee, who also shot a 77. However, Lee’s earlier rounds helped him secure the title with an aggregate score of 297, while Daluwatte’s total gross was 298.
Daluwatte began the tournament with an impressive three-under-par 69, followed by a three-over-par 75 in the second round. Unfortunately, a setback in the third round, where she carded a seven-over-par 79, affected her chances of winning.
