KURUNEGALA: (ePRESS) – Ladies’ College excelled at the 7th All Island Archery Championship, hosted by the Sri Lanka Archery Association at Royal International School grounds in Kurunegala last weekend.
The Flower Road School secured a total of nine medals in the two-day tournament, including two gold, three silver, and four bronze medals.
Anargi de Silva achieved a gold medal in the Women’s 60m Cadet event, while Kayla Jayasuriya clinched another gold in the Women’s 30m Open event, contributing to Ladies’ College’s top position in the competition.
Anargi de Silva also secured another silver medal in the Under-17 30m event, and Rahmah Cader achieved silver in the Under-21 30m event. Nethu Ranbadu added to the team’s success with a silver medal in the 30m Open event, while Salma Irfan claimed bronze in the same category. Kayla Jayasuriya won a bronze medal in the Under-17 30m event.
In the younger categories, Sheraya Peiris won bronze in the Under-14 age group for the 18m event, and Mesha Perera secured bronze in the Under-12 age group for the same event.
Coach Peshala Kalansooriya leads with experience and expertise, guiding the team towards excellence. Meanwhile, Ms. Malithi Paranagamage, as the dedicated teacher in-charge, provides invaluable support and ensures the smooth operation of the team’s activities. Their combined efforts contribute significantly to the team’s success and development.
