Reshan Algama from the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) demonstrated his expertise by securing victory in the November National Ranking Tournament (NRT) at the Victoria Golf Resort in Digana. Algama sealed his triumph with a final-day gross score of 74, achieving an aggregate gross score of 295.
The 15-year-old Colombo International School student not only emerged victorious in this tournament but also set a remarkable record by winning the National Ranking Tournament three times in a calendar year at his age in Sri Lanka.
The competition saw professional golfer Priya Hemantha from the Victoria Golf Club coming in runner-up place with a less-than-stellar performance, shooting an 82 and securing an aggregate gross score of 307.
Chanaka Perera of RCGC, who led the first day’s leaderboard, made a strong comeback on the third day with a gross score of 74, securing the 3rd position with the same aggregate gross score of 307.
Uchitha Ranasinghe, the winner of the September NRT from RCGC, secured the 4th place with a gross score of 75 and an aggregate gross of 309. G Dhanaranjan and Jevahn Sathasivam claimed the 5th and 6th positions with aggregate gross scores of 318 and 325, respectively.
