SINGAPORE, May 28 (ePRESS) – Representing Killer Whale Aquatics carrying the pride of Hatton National Bank as its Brand Ambassador for the Sports Vertical, Kyle Abeysinghe of Killer Whale Aquatics produced a sensational comeback performance to win the bronze medal in the men’s 100m Freestyle at the 21st Singapore National Swimming Championships held in Singapore.
Abeysinghe clocked an outstanding 50.94 seconds to become Sri Lanka’s top-ranked male swimmer of 2026 with a massive 755 World Aquatics points score.
The remarkable swim also confirmed Killer Whale Aquatics as the home of Sri Lanka’s top two male swimmers this year, with Kyle moving to number one ahead of his talented teammate MF Muhammad.
Most significantly, the 26-year-old recorded his fastest 100m Freestyle time since 2018, completing a stunning return to top-level swimming after battling illness and staying away from competitive action for nearly four years.
His bronze medal effort was not only a personal triumph but also a major boost for Sri Lankan swimming ahead of several important international competitions scheduled later this year.
The performance further highlighted the growing dominance of Killer Whale Aquatics in Sri Lankan swimming, with the club continuing to produce elite athletes capable of competing successfully in the international pool.
