Colombo, Feb 23, 6.45PM – The International Schools of Sri Lanka (TISSL) is hosting its grand sporting event, the 22nd edition of the International Schools Athletic Championship (ISAC). Gateway College is organizing the event for the 12th time. It’s all happening on Saturday and Sunday at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The opening ceremony, set to commence at 7:15 AM, will have Dr. Harsha Alles, Chairman of Gateway Group, as the chief guest. Bill Damachis, Director of International Partnerships at Flinders University Australia, will be the guest of honor.
Around 1500 athletes and 300 technical officials are taking part in the two-day sporting extravaganza. Moreover, an enthusiastic crowd of 15,000 students, parents, and alumni will be cheering for the athletes.
The event boasts prominent sponsors including Pearson Edexcel, Flinders University, and Ritzbury, the flagship brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited. Other sponsors include Pyramid Wilmar, VIDA Medical, Sense Rehabilitation, and Sports Hospital.
A total of 106 events are scheduled over the two days, with most being finals or timed finals. It promises to be an action-packed and thrilling event for all participants and spectators alike.
