Ishan and Dimitri dominate British School’s annual track event

Colombo, Feb 27, 8.30PM – Ishan Kahandawalaarachchi and Dimitri Perera were the stars at the yearly track and field event of the British School in Colombo (BSC) held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama recently.

Ishan did really well in all his events and helped Nobel House, which won the whole competition after a tough fight. Ishan won the high jump, long jump, and triple jump, and got the Joint Best Athlete Award with Dimitri Perera in the Boys’ Year 12-13 group.

Aneesha Dodanwela from Shakespeare House was the Best Athlete among girls aged 12-13, while Senuli Gamage from Newton House stood out the most among girls aged 7-8.

Ivana Ondaatje and Sneha Ratnayake from Newton House both got the Best Athlete Award in the Girls’ Year 9-11 group, and Yasiru Dissanayake from Nobel House won the top prize in the Boys’ Year 9-11 category.

Nobel House did great in the Boys’ Year 7-8 group too, with Zeidan Famil earning the Best Athlete Award.

Shakespeare House came second overall, followed by Newton House and Scott House in third and fourth place respectively.
