Bangkok, THAILAND: (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka’s top amateur golfer Kaya Daluwatte has positioned herself as a strong contender, finishing the third and penultimate round with a total gross score of 223 and placing second in Class AG at the Singha Thailand Junior World Golf Championship held at the Hua Hin Golf Course in Bangkok.

Playing on the 72-par course, Daluwatte delivered impressive rounds, scoring a stunning 69 on the first day and a solid 75 in the second. She now trails Vietnam’s Chuc An Lee, who leads the Class AG tournament by a single stroke with a total of 222. Close behind, R. Ng from the Philippines remains in the running with 224, making the final round highly anticipated.

Daluwatte’s consistent play has drawn attention, as fans eagerly await to see if she can overtake An Lee’s narrow lead and clinch the title in today’s final round.

Kaya Daluwatte expressed her determination after a strong performance at the Singha Thailand Junior World Golf Championship. “I feel good about how I’ve played so far, but I know the final round will be tough,” she said. “I just want to focus on my game and play my best. If I do that, I believe I can win.” Kaya is excited about the chance to compete for the title and is ready to give her all in the last round. Her confidence and hard work have made her a player to watch in the tournament.

Even-par round boosts Algama’s chances

In the Boys’ Division, Sri Lanka’s number one amateur golfer, Reshan Algama, delivered one of the standout performances of the day, shooting an even-par round that elevated him to 11th place with an aggregate score of 233. Teammate Jacob Norton, however, faced a challenging round, posting an over-par 78 and slipping to 14th place with a total of 237. Thailand’s Jaideth Na made headlines with a remarkable one-under-par round, the best of the day, further intensifying the competitive field.

Leading the boys’ standings is Thailand’s N. Srichatphiran, who posted a consistent score of 215, one under par, marking him as the player to beat.
