Diyagama, Homagama, January 23, 7.10PM – Brace yourselves for the National Para Athletic Championship, a transformative event organized by the National Paralympic Committee, scheduled to grace the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex from March 20 to 22, as revealed by the committee on Tuesday.

This inclusive three-day championship opens its doors to both junior and senior para athletes, creating a platform for aspiring talents to display their talent. The junior category welcomes participants under 18, while the senior level caters to athletes over 18. The event holds special significance as it doubles as a selection trial for entry into the National Pools. Athletes who deliver standout performances during the championship stand the chance to be chosen for the prestigious national pool.

For junior athletes, success in this championship not only brings glory but also paves the way for participation in the 2025 Asian Youth Para Sports Championship, set to commence in Azerbaijan next year. Beyond the thrill of competition, this championship stands as a vital stepping stone for para athletes, propelling them toward the international stage where they can leave an indelible mark.
