COLOMBO: (ePRESS) – Newton House claimed the overall title at the Senior Inter-House Swimming Championships of the British School in Colombo (BSC), held recently at the School Swimming Pool Complex.
The champions secured a dominant total of 668 points, comprising 275 from relay events and 393 from individual performances. Shakespeare House finished second with 491 points, while Nobel House (424 points) and Scott House (240 points) secured third and fourth places, respectively.
Newton House’s standout swimmer, Ayush Wijetunga, delivered an exceptional performance, clinching three golds in the Boys’ 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, and 100m individual medley.
Shakespeare House shone in individual categories, with Kiyana De Zoysa (Girls’ Year 11-13), Ethan Wanasinghe (Boys’ Year 9-10), Sasha Rajapakse (Girls’ Year 9-10), Timeth Rajapakse (Boys’ Year 7-8), and Elisha Samuel (Girls’ Year 7-8) claiming top honors in their respective age groups.
