MORATUWA, Sri Lanka, October 2 (ePRESS) – The Ramadia Grand Hotel has officially opened in the heart of Moratuwa, becoming the first four-star property in the Moratuwa–Panadura area and setting a new standard for hospitality in the region.
The hotel, developed by the Rodesha Group under the leadership of its Chairman Rohan Fernando, is a 50-room luxury property that aims to attract both local and international travelers seeking long-term stays. Fernando said that although the area has many tourism hotspots, it lacked high-end accommodation for foreign visitors.
“This is why I invested in this four-star class property, which is the biggest hotel in the region,” Fernando said.
The Ramadia Grand Hotel features the largest banquet hall in the area, with space for more than 1,500 guests. The hall is built without pillars and fitted with modern lighting, making it a prime venue for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
The 11-storey property also boasts unique facilities, including five suites, the only rooftop swimming pool in the region, a rooftop restaurant that can seat 100 guests, and a nightclub with sweeping views of the sea and lagoon. Guests can also enjoy excursions to nearby attractions and exclusive dining experiences aboard yachts owned by the group’s Ran Mal Resort.
The hotel is expected to generate over 160 new jobs for the local community.
Fernando said the property has already been promoted globally through travel agents and has received forward bookings. “This hotel is more than just a luxury property — it is a catalyst for regional tourism. We are proud to help position Moratuwa as a destination capable of attracting high-end international travelers,” he added.
