Representing Killer Whale Aquatics, Ramudi has set an impressive legacy in Sri Lanka’s swimming history. With five long-course national records to her name, she holds three individual national records in the 50m, 100m, and 200m Breaststroke events. Her relay achievements are equally remarkable, holding two national records in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay and the 4x50m Medley Relay.
Ramudi, another product of Visakha Vidyalaya, has continued to raise the bar for Sri Lanka’s swimming, breaking her own records in recent years. In 2023, she renewed her national 100m Breaststroke record with a time of 1:13.87 and also set new national marks in the 50m Breaststroke (33.91) and the 200m Breaststroke (2:41.66).
At just 22 years old, Samarakoon has firmly established herself as one of Sri Lanka’s top swimmers. She is currently ranked as the second-highest swimmer in Sri Lanka in terms of FINA points, having achieved an impressive 654 points for her 100m Breaststroke. This achievement places her among the elite in Sri Lanka’s 22-member national swimming squad, recently announced by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union.
