Digana, KANDY: (ePRESS) – Sam Gunaratne emerged as the Overall Winner, also securing the title of Nett Winner in the men’s category at the LECTRA-VGR October Monthly Medal took place at the stunning Victoria Golf Resorts in Digana, Kandy.
In the ladies’ division, Linda Harris was crowned the Nett Winner. Her impressive play and strategic shots helped her stand out among the competitors.
The Gross Winner in the men’s category was Derrik Ponnambalam, who displayed exceptional skills on the course. Meanwhile, Melanie Bond took the Gross Winner title in the ladies’ division, showing her consistency and ability to perform under pressure.
In addition to the main prizes, several special awards were given out. Melanie Bond also won the Nearest to the Pin award for ladies, while Nishal Hettiarachchi claimed the title in the men’s category. Both players displayed remarkable accuracy during the tournament.
The Longest Drive awards highlighted the strength of the competitors. Mrs Harris earned the title in the ladies’ division, while Mr. R. Bawaneethan won in the men’s category, displaying their powerful swings.
The tournament recognized other talented golfers as well. Anumi Karunatilake and Suren Prematillake were the Gross Runner Ups, while Pauline Morley and K. Wigneswaran took the Nett Runner Up spots.
