Sri Lanka Golf is preparing to host the National Ranking Tournament, scheduled to take place from November 10 to 13 at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Digana.
This tournament is significant as it will not only determine the top-ranked players but also serve as a trial to select two men for the 122nd Amateur Golf Championship of India and two men for the Malaysian Amateur Championship, both scheduled for December.
A total of 27 players will compete for the top positions in this event. Notably, players like Chanaka Perera and Chalitha Pushpika have recently returned after participating in the APGC in Melbourne. Additionally, junior players Reshan Algama, Jevahn Sathasivam, K Danushan, and Adhithya Weerasinghe bring their recent tournament experiences from Thailand and Malaysia to this upcoming event.
Uchitha Ranasinghe, the winner of the September National Ranking Tournament, and G Danaranjan from Victoria Golf Club, who secured the runner-up position in the July National Ranking Tournament, will be among the competitive field. Danaranjan’s familiarity with the Victoria Golf and Country Resort course adds an interesting dimension to the competition.
The tournament is anticipated to be highly competitive as players strive to secure their positions for the international events taking place next month.
