Colombo, Jan 5, Fri – Sri Lanka Golf has exciting news for golf enthusiasts as they announce that eleven top-seeded golfers are set to compete in two trial rounds on January 8 and 9 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

The main aim of these trials is to carefully select two players who will represent in the upcoming 37th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship. This prestigious championship is scheduled to take place from January 31 to February 3 at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

To qualify for selection, players must achieve a gross score of three over par or less on each trial day, a criterion emphasized by Sri Lanka Golf. This standard ensures that only the best-performing golfers secure a spot in the championship, contributing to the high level of competition.

Chilatha Pushpika, who recently secured the 11th position in both tournaments during the two Malaysian tours, is among the talented contenders vying for a spot.

The eleven players participating in the trials include Junior Open winner Jevahn Sathasivam, K Danushan, Chanaka Perera, Chalitha Pushpika, Uchitha Ranasinghe, Kvahn Tejwani, Yannik Kumara, Roshana Prasad, Janeesh Weerasinghe, Thenuk Sathnidu, and Adithya Weerasinghe.

Interestingly, Reshan Algama, the leading young golfer and winner of the November National Ranking Tournament, has chosen not to participate in the trials due to academic commitments, as confirmed by Sri Lanka Golf.

These trials promise an exciting display of talent, and golf enthusiasts eagerly await the announcement of the two players who will proudly represent in the esteemed Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship.
