Sri Lions secure JAT backing, promote fair play

BATTARAMULLA, Colombo: (ePRESS) – Sri Lions Sports Club, the latest addition to the ‘A’ Division Rugby League, is entering the competition with confidence as they announced JAT Holdings as their Gold sponsor for the 2024-2025 season. The announcement was made at a media briefing held at the JAT Holdings headquarters on Thursday.

In addition to JAT Holdings, Lakbima Cargo will serve as the club’s main sponsor for the season. During the event, Sri Lions also introduced a new Fair Play Award, which will be supported by the Sports Ministry, Sri Lanka Rugby, and the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Referees Society. The award will recognize the club that demonstrates the best spirit of fair play throughout the season. The winning team will receive a cash prize of half a million rupees, highlighting Sri Lions’ dedication to promoting ethical conduct and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

The Sri Lions, a strong team that recently won the Emirates Dubai Sevens, are led by captain Kevin Dixon. They will begin their 2024-2025 campaign with an exciting match against Kandy Sports Club at Nittawela on Sunday, starting at 4 PM.
