COLOMBO, July 7 (ePRESS) – Sri Lanka Davis Cup front liner Thehan Wijemanne continued his golden run at the Vision Care 111st Colombo Championship 2026 when he teamed up with Biyanka Acquistapace to win the mixed doubles title in commanding style at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association clay courts in Colombo.
Thehan and Biyanka produced a near-perfect display in the final, beating Dinara de Silva and Sankha Atukorale 6-2, 6-1 to claim the crown with authority.
The victory came as another major success for 22-year-old Thehan, who had already won the men’s singles title at this year’s championship before entering the mixed doubles final.
Thehan, a key player in Sri Lanka’s Davis Cup team, is also a two-time men’s singles winner at the Colombo Championship, making this latest triumph another strong reminder of his class and consistency on clay.
In the boys’ under-16 semi-finals, Dehan Wikramasinghe booked his place in the final after beating Nevan Kannangara 6-2, 7-5 in a solid performance.
Damsath Peiris also moved into the boys’ under-16 final with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win over Chirath Subasinghe.

In the girls’ under-18 semi-finals, Sahansa Damsiluni recovered from her under-16 defeat to beat Gehansa Methnadi 6-4, 6-4 and secure a place in the final.
Akeesha Silva also advanced to the girls’ under-18 final with a confident 6-1, 6-4 win over Githmi Fernando.
