COLOMBO: (ePRESS) – Revaan Amarasinghe of S. Thomas’ College emerged victorious in the Boys Under-12 final of the 109th National Tennis Championship, defeating Shannon Senadheera of Wesley College in straight sets at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo.
Amarasinghe dominated the final, winning 6-1, 6-2, to secure the title with a 2-0 victory. In the semi-finals, he maintained his form, beating J. Thalammehara 6-2, 6-2.
Meanwhile, the Boys Under-12 singles quarter-finals also saw intense competition. Nevan Kannangara defeated Rahil Rizvie 6-3, 6-1. Peterite star Mayooran Kubherane triumphed over Yudeeraya Atapattu of Maliyadeva College Kurunegala 6-1, 6-4.
In another quarter-final, Ashlin de Silva of St Peter’s College overcame Risith Soamratne of Ananda College 6-4, 7-6, while Damsath Peiris of Ananda College beat Parvesh Sivapalan of St Peter’s College 6-3, 6-4.
