COLOMBO: (ePRESS) – The third edition of the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup inter-club golf tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force and sponsored by DIMO, will take place on June 28 and 29 at China Bay in Trincomalee.
A press conference announcing the event was held at the Air Force Headquarters in Colombo on Tuesday evening. Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa was present at the event.
This two-day tournament will feature teams from the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC), Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) in Digana, and the host club, Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses. The teams will compete for supremacy in various categories.
Each of the four clubs will field a team of 15 golfers. They will compete for several awards, including Nearest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Best Player with the Highest Nett Stableford Points, and Best Player with the Highest Gross Stableford Points.
DIMO is the principal sponsor of the tournament, while the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) is the official banking partner. The event is co-sponsored by the China National Aero-technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), facilitated by the Sri Lanka Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses.
Representatives from DIMO and BOC attended the press conference. They included Yohan Thilakaratne, General Manager of Corporate and Communications at DIMO, and Asanka Bentharavithana, Assistant General Manager (Western Province South) of BOC. Also present were Harun Gunasekaran, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at DIMO, and Sameera D. Liyanage, Chief Marketing Officer of BOC.
