NUWARA ELIYA: (ePRESS) – Uchitha Ranasinghe of Royal Colombo Golf Club emerged as the champion of the three-round October Ranking Tournament organized by Sri Lanka Golf, which concluded at the scenic Nuwara Eliya Golf Club on Sunday.
Ranasinghe displayed exceptional skill and consistency throughout the tournament. He started with a score of 74 in the first round, followed by a 75 in the second round, and finished strong with a 72 in the final round, totaling 221 strokes. His impressive performance secured him the top spot on the leaderboard.
Following closely in second place was Chanaka Perera, who showcased his talent with rounds of 75, 77, and 72, finishing with a total of 224. Perera’s steady play kept him competitive, but he fell just short of catching Ranasinghe.
S. Dhuwarshan claimed third place, completing the tournament with a total score of 229, thanks to rounds of 75, 80, and 74. His solid play throughout the event helped him secure a spot on the podium.
Sanath Chandra HLS finished in fourth place with a total score of 234, while PDSU Kumara followed closely behind at 241. GWAJ Wijenayake ended with a score of 242, completing a competitive field.
In the ladies’ category, R. Rathnayaka led with a total of 292, while Uluwattha Kudn and Wijegunarathna KWDS finished with scores of 303 and 316, respectively.
