World Aquatics and SLASU join forces for elite swimmer scholarships

Colombo, Mar 21, 3.50PM – World Aquatics has announced an exciting opportunity for swimmers worldwide through the Stipendium Hungaricum Sports Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2024-2025. This initiative aims to support talented athletes in pursuing their academic and athletic endeavors.

Swimmers with 600 or more world aquatic points are eligible to apply for this prestigious scholarship. The program invites applications from individuals who meet the specified criteria, providing a platform for swimmers to showcase their skills and achievements on a global stage.

In collaboration with the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU), World Aquatics will nominate the highest-scoring male and female swimmers from the pool of applicants. These nominees represent Sri Lanka’s finest talents, demonstrating excellence and dedication in the field of aquatics sports.

In the event that World Aquatics offers only one scholarship for Sri Lanka, the selection process becomes even more competitive. Out of the two athletes nominated by SLASU, the swimmer with the highest world aquatic points will be chosen to receive the scholarship, emphasizing merit and performance as key criteria for selection.
