British School champ excels in India’s Ranji Trophy

JAIPUR, India: (ePRESS) – Former star cricketer of the British School in Colombo, Rahul Radesh, has achieved a personal milestone by scoring his maiden First-Class (FC) century in India’s prestigious Ranji Trophy.

The 21-year-old wicket-keeper batsman, who is representing Hyderabad, made exactly 100 runs in their drawn Elite Group ‘B’ match against Rajasthan at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rahul, a stylish left-hander, faced 268 balls and hit seven boundaries in his determined innings, helping Hyderabad to post a strong total of 410 in their first innings after opting to bat first.

Previously, Rahul had a significant impact during his time at the British School in Colombo. Under the guidance of former coach Aruna Batapolaarachchi, he led the school’s cricket team across all age categories. Rahul was key in leading the British School to victory in the Inter-International Schools Under-17 Tournament in both 2018 and 2019, and they finished as runners-up in 2020.
